HOMEWORK AND PRACTICE:

Homework gives a student extra skills on what is being already introduced.

When assigning homework it should be at a level that matches the students'

skills in order to produce positive consequences and for the homework to be

completed. When assigning homework a teacher should incorporate a homework

policy in order for the students to know what is expected. The teacher should

always provide feedback on the homework assigned. A good way of estimating

the appropriate amount of homework would be to multiply the grade x 10, this

should be how many minutes the student spends on homework each night.

Practice increases the possibility that students' will remember the concept that

has been taught. In order for practice to be effective, teachers need to introduce

fewer skills but at higher levels. To master a skill and expand knowledge requires

an ample amount of practice.Mastery requires practice that takes days and even

weeks. It can take a student over 24 practice sessions on a topic to reach 80% mastery.
